Brampton Library purchases NovelBranch providing browsing collection in renovated Community Centre

The City of Brampton is unquestioningly one of the fastest growing communities in Ontario and in Canada.  The Library provides  a critical service to its citizens. The Library has done a great job at keeping pace with the growth by expanding physical locations.  Most recently renovations have been taking place at their Chinguacousy Branch (Bramalea Civic Centre) where NovelBranch has been situated in a foyer to function as an alternative service point in preparation for a later move to the Gore Meadows Community Centre whihc has also been undergoing significant renovation and expansion to meet growing needs. The Library which does have a Branch in the Community Centre recognized an opportunity to launch a service point in the new entrance to the facility.  In this situation, NovelBranch will be accessible during Community Centre hours which extend beyond the Branch’s hours.  It will provide to all users (and particularly busy families) access to a browsing collection curated specifically for circulation through NovelBranch.  The placement of NovelBranch is very deliberate; it will promote the Library in a very visual but also interactive way. This is important because with the new renovation the Library is quite a bit further inside the building then it used to be.
