"PCReservation seems to be working very well for us - just as I had hoped when I originally signed on. Thanks to you, we have a very useful product that makes my Reference staff smile."
Jill Foster, former CEO, Bracebridge Public Library

"CLT's proposal to the Kitchener Public Library included on-site installation by CLT staff along with a Lorensbergs representative to ensure the best possible installation. All went according to schedule but when the required server was held on backorder and could not be delivered on time, CLT and Lorensbergs worked positively with us to proceed with the installation and training on a temporary server. This enabled us to move ahead with configuration planning and testing while we awaited delivery of our new hardware without impacting our budget. Convergent went beyond their initial proposal to work with us at our location on two additional occasions when we needed to move the application to a new server platform and conduct staff training that helped facilitate configuration decisions. They certainly delivered on their promise of making us a satisfied customer."
Bryan Dunham, Coordinator, Information Technology, Kitchener Public Library

"We chose Convergent Library Technologies as our vendor because they gave us personalized training that allowed staff to understand how things would change for the better without compromising our Board's Internet Acceptable Use Policy. With the help of Convergent, we were able to work through our policy to make PCReservation reflect and uphold the unique needs of our community and our patrons."
Ken Hernden, former Head of Reference, Audio-Visual and Systems, North Bay Public Library

"After reviewing several different applications for our Library PC Booking project, the consensus around the table was that NetLoan Pro produced by Lorensbergs, and supplied locally by Convergent Library Technologies Inc. (CLT) was the way to go. CLT were able to provide us with the kind of detailed information required to make the kind of informed decision that we were confident would meet the needs of the Town and the Library. […]

We have been live on the system since January 2005. We had a couple of challenges leading up to the live date, which included rolling out over 100 new Thin Clients and 25 PCs and network infrastructure changes. CLT's experience with the Universe database software and networks as it pertained to connectivity between NetLoan and Dynix helped ensure both systems were communicating seamlessly when we went live.

Lorensbergs support assistance throughout the implementation has been exceptional and was recently demonstrated again during our recent migration to Horizon where we had to switch connectivity from Dynix Classic. Reports from staff and Library patrons are extremely positive. We are pleased with our decision and recommend Convergent Library Technologies and NetLoan Pro."
Jeff Lanaus, Manager, Network Services, Information Technology, Town of Oakville

"At Surrey Public Library we needed a new Internet access management system because of our migration to a new Integrated Library System (ILS). An access management tool had been included with our previous ILS, but was not part of the new one. Our research led us to conclude that PC Reservation from EnvisionWare would be the best product for our needs.

We prefer to deal with a reseller based in Canada, and we discovered that Convergent Library Technologies could provide us with the product, as well as installation and training services. Our choice was therefore clear, and we had no cause to regret thereafter.

CLT was patient and accommodating during the contract negotiation phase. Because our purchase was part of a major software migration project, we had strict budget limitations. CLT was able to find solutions that would allow us to stay close to our budget plan. They were also able to accommodate our tight schedule.

During installation and training, Allison and Phil consistently went the extra mile for us as we experimented with possible configuration options. Allison provided excellent training for our staff and had the detailed knowledge of PC Reservation required to tweak the configuration to our satisfaction.

Phil’s knowledge of both our old and our new ILS (Dynix and Horizon respectively) as well as PC Reservation, allowed us to find solutions for some unusual and unique problems that we faced. For example, we have computer training classrooms that, for security reasons, are isolated from our main network. Yet we needed to find a way to import the borrower database from our ILS to form the basis for a PC Reservation user database in the classrooms. Phil put in a lot of extra time getting that to work for us.

In fact, both Allison and Phil put in numerous extra hours to work with us until we had a satisfactorily working Internet access management system. Of course there are always problems that may crop up later, or decisions that managers wish to reverse with further experience of the system. CLT was available to us for follow-up consultation and helped smooth our transition to working directly with EnvisionWare support.

Our experience with Convergent Library Technologies was positive and rewarding. Surrey Public Library is currently considering acquiring other EnvisionWare products from them, and should we do so I have no doubt that the result will be equally good."
Jim Walsh, Systems Librarian, Surrey Public Library
